Peri, Pirie (12th century); Est Perye, Pirie in Grofam (14th century) and Perry (Modern), (including East Perry and West Perry).The western part of the hamlet of Perry was in the parish of Great Staughton and was known as West Perry; the eastern and less populous part, known as East Perry was in Grafham parish. They have now both been merged into the new parish of Perry to accommodate the additional houses that have been built joining the two original hamlets together and the fact that East Perry has been separated from Grafham by the construction of the Grafham Water reservoir. Perry is one of the parishes of the District of Huntingdonshire, whose administrative centre is Huntingdon, the other principle towns being St Ives home of the Chapel on the Bridge, St Neots the largest town in the County of Cambridgeshire, the Roman town of Godmanchester and Ramsey site of the former Abbey.
